The squat and bench are two lifts that are great to pair up on one day. So what do you do after finishing both of these? You could call it a day and recover but if you are looking for more here is some easy accessory work you could do to help boost your squat and bench a little quicker.
Try these three exercises!
3 sets of:
10 Dumbbell Rows
10 Tricep Pull Downs
10 Bulgarian Split Squats
1. Dumbbell Row: This will target your lats and upper back. Most people think of the core as your abs but the lats are a key contributor to your core and help you stabilize your core and shoulders during a squat or bench press.
2. Tricep Pulldowns: The triceps are a key muscle in any press and will specifically help the lockout of your bench press. Plus who doesn't want big arms!
3. Bulgarian Split Squats: Most people hate these but for good reason. They are hard! These are great for improving single-leg strength and stability while also targeting the quads and glutes.
