Sometimes accessory work can seem like a hassle. I get it for a while I wasn't much of a fan either but used correctly it can help you get stronger and can get you a sweet pump!
One misconception about accessory work is it will help prevent injuries. This is not true. No matter how much accessory work you do if you move like shit or do too much volume you can get hurt.
The benefit of accessory work is to strengthen the weak points that you have. Having trouble locking out your bench press? Hit the triceps. Having trouble locking out your deadlifts? Hit the glutes. By strengthening your weak points it will help you lift more on the main lifts.
To make accessory work more fun try setting goals for them. My goal on the hip thrust is to hit 3x10 at 2x my bodyweight. This way I am actually working towards something and not just going through the motions.
Ultimately you want to hit your accessory work as hard as you would your main lifts. That is where you will see the benefit!
